We’re seeking an experienced Solution Architect – AI to shape and govern scalable AI solutions that deliver measurable business value while meeting security, privacy, risk, compliance and responsible AI obligations.

About the opportunity

Working with business, technology, data and delivery teams, you will translate AI opportunities into safe, supportable enterprise solutions. You’ll define practical architecture patterns, guide technology decisions and help establish sound foundations for AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Define high-level and detailed solution architectures for AI-enabled solutions
  • Translate business outcomes and technical requirements into pragmatic architecture options
  • Design patterns covering data ingestion, model integration, orchestration, application integration, security, monitoring and operational support
  • Assess technology and platform options, including vendor solutions
  • Facilitate workshops with senior business and technology stakeholders
  • Prepare architecture recommendations and present them through governance forums
  • Establish and maintain architecture standards, guardrails and decision records
  • Support discovery, proof-of-concept and MVP initiatives
  • Identify risks across privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, compliance and responsible AI
  • Collaborate with Enterprise, Platform and Solution Architects, delivery leads and external partners

What you’ll bring

  • Seven or more years’ experience delivering business-outcome-focused solution architecture engagements
  • Proven experience designing multi-system solutions across in-house development and vendor delivery models
  • Strong knowledge of generative AI, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows and automation patterns
  • Experience defining secure, governed and supportable AI architecture patterns
  • Ability to balance innovation with privacy, cyber, compliance, responsible AI and technology-risk requirements
  • Experience designing and facilitating architecture workshops
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Confidence engaging and influencing senior business and technology stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualification in information technology or equivalent relevant experience

Desirable experience

Experience with AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and/or AWS Bedrock/AgentCore, including model selection, knowledge bases, orchestration, guardrails, enterprise-data integration and secure deployment.

Experience in a regulated environment, particularly health, insurance or financial services, will be highly regarded.

 

Contract details

  • Initial term: Six months
  • Contract rate: $1,300 per day, including superannuation
  • Location: Melbourne/Sydney Remote
  • Reporting to: Enterprise Architect, Excellence Hubs
