Platform Migration Specialist (Senior BA)

Job Requisition Number:  14812
Date:  19 Oct 2026
Location:

VIC, AU NSW, AU SA, AU SA, AU

Initial 6-month contract | $900 incl super per day

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst / Platform Migration Specialist to support a significant health technology platform migration.

This is not your standard BA role. You’ll work across business analysis, data migration, operational readiness, testing and change, helping transition from an existing health platform to a new technology solution while ensuring data, processes and users are ready for go-live.

You’ll be comfortable getting into the detail, working across technical and non-technical teams, and taking ownership of activities from requirements and data analysis through to UAT, cutover and transition into BAU.

The role

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading requirements gathering and translating business needs into clear functional and operational requirements.
  • Supporting end-to-end data migration, including source-to-target mapping, data profiling, quality assessment, cleansing requirements and validation.
  • Working with technical teams across trial migrations, reconciliation, cutover and go-live activities.
  • Defining requirements for data retention, archival and deletion, with consideration for privacy, health records and audit obligations.
  • Designing BAU support processes, SOPs, escalation pathways, support models and knowledge articles for the new platform.
  • Developing transition documentation, training materials and quick reference guides to support adoption and operational handover.
  • Planning and coordinating UAT, including test scenarios, scripts, tester coordination, defect management and sign-off.
  • Supporting change and readiness activities across impacted teams.
  • Managing migration risks, issues and dependencies through RAID logs and appropriate governance.
  • Providing project stakeholders with clear status reporting, migration readiness updates and progress reporting.
  • Supporting hypercare following go-live and the transition into steady-state operations.

About you

You’ll bring:

  • Strong experience as a Senior Business Analyst working on complex system implementation or platform migration programmes.
  • Demonstrated experience with data migration, including mapping, profiling, data quality, reconciliation and validation.
  • Strong requirements elicitation and documentation capability across user stories, process maps and traceability.
  • Experience supporting UAT planning and execution.
  • Experience designing operational or BAU support processes, including SOPs, escalation models and SLAs.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across business, technical, operational and vendor teams.
  • Experience working with Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to operate across multiple workstreams and comfortably wear several hats throughout a migration.

Highly regarded

Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

  • Healthcare, eHealth or digital health platform environments.
  • Health or sensitive-data retention, deletion and privacy requirements.
  • Care coordination or health technology platforms.
  • Legacy platform decommissioning, data archival or de-identification.
  • Healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR.
  • SQL, advanced Excel or Power BI for data analysis and validation.
  • Change methodologies such as ADKAR or Prosci.
  • Agile, PRINCE2 or ITIL environments.

Why this role?

This is a hands-on opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of a complex platform migration, from defining requirements and understanding legacy data through to testing, operational readiness, go-live and BAU transition.

It would particularly suit a Senior BA who has previously been the “go-to” person on a migration, rather than someone whose experience has been limited to requirements gathering alone.
