The Opportunity
Join Medibank in a pivotal role within the Diversity, Inclusion, Sustainability and Community (DISC) Squad as an Environmental Data Coordinator, on a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract. As an Environmental Data Coordinator, you will own the environmental and greenhouse gas emissions reporting for Medibank, working to ensure accurate reporting of data; educating stakeholders; uplifting our environmental reporting; and implementing our decarbonisation strategy.
You will be part of a passionate and committed team who are personally and professionally committed to advancing sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and analyse data related to environmental metrics including greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, energy consumption and waste generation. Calculate Medibank Group’s GHG emissions according to the GHG protocol and Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) requirements, and Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard requirements, with experience using Climate Active reporting workbooks, guidance materials nd supporting documentation for independent assurance.
- Decarbonisation Strategy: Work closely with the business to, embed, monitor and report on decarbonisation strategy. Promote environmental sustainability awareness and education within Medibank. Being part of Medibank’s decarbonisation strategy implementation and Net Zero goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Be part of a highly motivated, diverse and committed team who are dedicated to creating a safe space to share opinions, challenge decisions and be valued for your contributions.

Must Haves:
- Subject matter expertise in environmental sustainability, climate reporting frameworks (including ASRS), carbon accounting, GHG Protocol and Climate Active.
- Experience supporting internal and external audit processes, including providing clear, well documented evidence.
- 1-2 years’ experience in GHG or Carbon accounting.
- Fully proficient in MS Office365 products, particularly Excel.
