The Opportunity
Amplar Health delivers a range of national integrated healthcare services with over 6 million interactions per year across Telehealth, Homecare, Primary Care, Hospitals and virtual health including prevention programs.
Growth in the Primary Care offering is a key strategic priority for the Medibank group, building on the investment in Myhealth’s 106 physical clinics and virtual GP experience in development for Medibank Members, aiming for omni-channel, multi-disciplinary customer experience driving 10 million interactions per year up from 4 million today. The program of work in Primary Care is a multi-year, $300m investment endeavour, across multiple functions and areas in the Medibank group, with a national footprint objective.
The Project Director – Primary Care will lead the integration Primary Care program across multiple streams, exec sponsors, project leads, stakeholders and initiatives across Amplar, Myhealth and Medibank to deliver on the project’s objectives. The role will require the direction of work across multiple independent and interdependent teams, external partners, subsidiaries and other external and internal stakeholders. The role will assist the Hub Lead Primary Care and Head of Primary Care to work with project stream leads to establish, prioritise and drive initiatives, coordinate workstreams, manage deliverables, timelines, reporting, budgeting, communications and coordination with Amplar and Group Program governance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the delivery of the Primary Care Program, including project planning, scheduling, and coordination with stream, hub, and squad leads.
- Oversee execution and delivery, ensuring timely, quality outcomes in collaboration with product, operations, and technology teams.
- Develop and implement reporting frameworks, meeting cadence, and governance structures using tools like Jira and Miro.
- Manage risks and compliance, including maintaining risk registers, conducting post-project reviews, and ensuring alignment with internal policies and ISO standards.
- Create and maintain standardized documentation for project management, communications, and change plans.
- Support change management through planning and executing communication strategies to ensure smooth transitions to future states.
- Provide regular project updates and decision-making support, including preparing reports and papers for leadership and the Board.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships across internal divisions and external partners to ensure alignment and engagement throughout project delivery.
Must haves:
- Proven ability to engage, coach, and influence stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships to drive alignment and achieve outcomes.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and conflict resolution capabilities, with a track record of navigating complex environments to deliver results.
- Self-motivated and highly autonomous, with the ability to take initiative and deliver effectively with minimal supervision.
- Extensive experience in Primary Care or broader health service program delivery, with a deep understanding of sector-specific challenges and opportunities.
- Demonstrated success in leading technology-enabled projects, ensuring integration of digital solutions to support business and clinical outcomes.
- Experienced in leading, mentoring, and inspiring large multi-disciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative culture and high-performance delivery.
