The Opportunity

We have a permanent Area Business Development Manager role available in our Business Development team, based in metropolitan Queensland (Brisbane or Gold Coast surroundings). All sales and revenue produced by this role will be self-generated through the growth of outbound activities with the flexibility to work autonomously from home, client offices, Medibank Queensland head office or other sites.

 

As an Area Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for delivering targeted incremental sales growth through the expansion of under indexed market for the Medibank brand in your region.

 

By delivering exceptional service, having strong product knowledge and a positive attitude you can drive your own and the regions sales growth which will give you the opportunity to make commission on top of your salary.

 

More about the role 

Not every day at Medibank will be the same and being adaptable is the key to success. Some of the best elements of this role include:

  • Responsibility in optimising local community engagement and implementing health promotion programs through the execution of the Specialty market strategy.
  • Self-Generating new business through Local Councils / government bodies, Local Area Marketing Activities, Partnerships, SME, Corporate clients, Migration Agents & Education institutions, Members Choice Providers and involving in community engagement.
  • Effective collaboration with Territory Managers (TM), Regional Managers (RM) & Local Business development Managers (LBDM) to source new outbound business development opportunities in their region and improve the effectiveness of existing outbound relationships.
  • Continue to identify opportunities to improve retention of existing members, leading to ongoing market share growth for the Medibank brand including promoting My Medibank Apps and Live Better Apps.
  • Demonstrating effective Planning and Forecasting to enable business growth.

 

About You

You are a highly motivated and result-driven sales professional who thrives in a ‘sales through service’ culture. You take pride in delivering outstanding service and delivery, by remaining positive, resilient and accountable.

 

You have experience in developing a business plan/sales pipeline and a proven track record in self generating outbound sales opportunities. You understand the importance of staying at the forefront of technology, and you enjoy applying this knowledge to meet your customers’ needs through channels such as social media.

 

You bring demonstrated experience in B2C and high pressure B2B new business sales environment with proven success in managing account sales strategies. With a passion for health you plan, execute, and ultimately meet and exceed targets and objectives.

 

Experience using Salesforce is advantageous.  

 

Please note, you will require a car and driver’s license for this role.

A car allowance will be provided as part of the salary package.
