The Opportunity

 

Our People and Culture team is seeking a Workplace Relations Advisor on a part-time (4 days per week) or full-time 13-month fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for the provision of expert Workplace Relations advice to all levels of the People & Culture team and wider organisation. As part of the Workplace Relations team you will work collaboratively across the full spectrum of workplace relations. You will have autonomy, access and opportunity to influence all levels of our diverse organisation, from clinicians to health insurance.

 

This role supports the business to achieve their strategic objectives in a responsive, pragmatic and can-do way always adhering to our values, respecting the employee experience and ensuring that the Medibank group proactively maintains its compliance obligations and mitigates reputational risk.    

 

Where you can add value:

 

Provide strategic advice and subject matter expertise across a broad range of areas including; all aspects of industrial relations, EA negotiations, workplace investigations, representational work in tribunals, mergers and acquisitions, policy development and legislative interpretation.

 

Pro-actively support a broad range of stakeholders often through challenging and sensitive issues with the ability to build relationships in order to collaborate and influence.

 

Resolve complex workplace issues pragmatically using strong problem solving and analytical skills practicing patience and consistently looking to improve practices.

 

Your Impact

 

You will be Degree qualified and have extensive experience across all areas of Workplace Relations either within ER, IR, Employment Law, or HR generalist positions. Health-related experience would be advantageous.

 

With outstanding initiative, integrity, communication and stakeholder management skills, your ability to be flexible and pragmatic will see you thrive in a large corporate organisation.

 

We are looking for a mature minded, decisive individual who has a commitment to best practice and a proactive approach to achieving exceptional outcomes.

 

You will come equipped with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, translate IR information in a clearly understood manner, apply attention to detail and operate with confidence.
