The Opportunity – Treasury Dealer

As a Treasury Dealer within Medibank’s Finance & Strategy Division, you will work closely with the Head of Treasury and Investments and Portfolio Manager, to support the delivery of the organisation’s treasury and investment functions.

In this role, you will assist Medibank’s daily liquidity management in addition the investment of surplus funds by making trade recommendations, executing trades, and engaging with external brokers and counterparties.

How you will create value:

Leveraging your experience in Investments or Treasury, you will contribute to Medibank’s performance by:

• Ensuring Medibank’s daily cash position is accurately captured, monitored and reported, with material variability explained.
• Developing and enhancing cash flow forecasting models to support investment decision-making.
• Overseeing portfolio administration, including trade capture, security set-up, settlement oversight and counterparty monitoring.
• Supporting the Portfolio Manager in the investment of surplus funds, making trade recommendations, executing trades and maintaining market relationships with external counterparties and brokers.
• Collaborating with the Portfolio Manager to align liquidity management with investment strategies.
• Conducting general and ad hoc market research and analysis to inform investment decisions.
• Identifying opportunities to improve the cash flow forecasting processes by enhancing efficiencies, systems utilisation, data accuracy and delivery of business insights.
• Taking ownership of investment reporting, ensuring accuracy and leveraging third-party service providers, including Treasury Management System.
• Analysing portfolio performance and providing insights and recommendations for strategic adjustments.
• Complying with Medibank’s Risk & Governance culture by ensuring all trade activity is in accordance with policy and regulatory limits.

About you:

You bring experience in an Investment or Treasury function within a regulated environment, ideally APRA-regulated. You also demonstrate:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of investment concepts and relationships.
• Strong knowledge of fixed income security types and concepts.
• CFA qualification (completed or partial completion) is highly regarded.
