The Opportunity - Treasury Accountant
Join our Finance & Strategy group as a Treasury Accountant where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timely delivery of our treasury and investment accounting. This role offers hands‑on exposure across treasury operations with end‑to‑end ownership of month‑end processes.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the Treasury Operations Manager, Financial Accounting and key external partners to manage treasury transactions, reconciliations and reporting. You’ll be central to delivering a smooth and reliable month‑end close while contributing to continuous improvement across treasury processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Month‑End Ownership: Own treasury month‑end activities end‑to‑end, including processing valuations, journals, reconciliations and ensuring accurate capture of all treasury activity across systems.
- Treasury Operations: Authorise and reconcile treasury trades in the Treasury Management System (TMS), liaise with the custodian, and ensure settlements, coupons and principal repayments are processed accurately and on time.
- Reconciliations & Controls: Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and provide insights on movements and balances.
- Reporting & Compliance: Prepare treasury data sheets, income and cash flow reporting, support investment tax movement reporting, and assist with half‑year and year‑end financial statements and audit queries.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimise and simplify treasury and month‑end processes, support system enhancements, and contribute to automation and documentation of treasury procedures.
About You
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Experience in financial or treasury accounting, with strong exposure to month‑end close processes.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, controls and deadlines.
- Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across finance teams and external stakeholders.
