About the Role
Are you a strategic legal leader ready to make a meaningful impact in health services? Medibank is seeking a Head of – Managing Counsel to lead our Amplar Health legal team.
At Medibank we’ve recently unified our health services under one brand – Amplar Health.
With over 1000 employees, our nurses, GPs and other amazing allied health professionals our focus is on improving healthcare experiences and championing greater access, choice, and control for people in Australia when it comes to managing their health.
In this senior leadership role, you’ll manage a team of experienced lawyers and deliver high-quality, commercially focused legal services to Amplar Health across a range of health services, consumer, corporate, and commercial laws. You’ll be a key member of both the Trust, Legal and Company Secretariat (TLC) Extended Leadership Squad and the Amplar Health Senior Leaders Team, helping shape legal strategy and governance in a fast-evolving sector.
You’ll lead with purpose, foster a culture of empowerment and accountability, and drive innovation in legal service delivery. This role offers the opportunity to influence major change initiatives, manage complex legal risks, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the enterprise.
About You
You’re a seasoned legal professional with:

12+ years post-degree experience, including leadership roles in top-tier law firms or large in-house legal teams.

Deep expertise in health services, consumer, corporate and commercial laws, and contracting.

A current Australian practising certificate and a strong track record of delivering strategic legal advice to senior executives.

A collaborative mindset, excellent judgment, and the ability to lead through change.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build trusted relationships.

A passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering legal solutions that enable business growth.
