The Opportunity

As a Squad Lead, AI Engineering & Assurance within the AI Hub, you'll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to shape, interpret and continuously evolve the technical foundations, engineering practices and assurance frameworks that enable the successful delivery of AI solutions across Medibank.

You'll work alongside strategy, delivery, data and technology leaders to create the architecture, standards and guardrails that help teams confidently build and deploy AI solutions that are secure, well governed and ready for enterprise scale.

What you'll be doing

• Leading the evolution of Medibank's enterprise AI architecture, reference patterns and technical standards
• Creating reusable frameworks, tooling and delivery approaches that accelerate AI adoption across the organisation
• Embedding responsible AI, privacy, security and compliance considerations into delivery by design
• Establishing scalable controls, assurance mechanisms and governance practices that enable innovation while maintaining trust
• Partnering closely with AI Strategy & Digital & Technology squads to align AI delivery with enterprise architecture and technology strategy
• Influencing senior stakeholders across technology, risk, governance and business teams
• Leading a multidisciplinary squad of AI, architecture, engineering, security and assurance specialists
• Building an environment where people can do their best work while delivering meaningful outcomes for customers and the business

About you

You're an enterprise technology leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on credibility. You understand how to turn emerging technologies into practical business capability and know how to balance ambition, innovation and risk in complex environments.

You'll bring:

• Significant experience across enterprise architecture, engineering leadership, technology strategy, cyber security, assurance or technology delivery
• Strong understanding of AI technologies, digital platforms and modern engineering practices
• Experience leading large-scale business or technology transformation initiatives
• The ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and align diverse perspectives
• A track record of leading highly specialised technical teams and creating clarity in ambiguity
• Strong judgement and decision-making, particularly when balancing innovation, governance and risk
