Our new Digital Health experiences plays a massive part in moving our Digital strategy to next level, we're looking for a Senior Product Designer to make our responsive web experiences as beautiful and delightful as they can possibly be for our members.
Reporting to Design leadership, you'll work collaboratively with digital squads, product and engineering peers to contribute to upgrading our design language system, build upon our design practices, learn about design ops and become the expert for our health experiences on web.
In an agile environment, you'll prototype and concept features, ensuring aesthetics, accessibility, motion and function are just right. You'll work closely with squads to discuss feasibility and design implementation both in Discovery and Delivery.
You'll work hand in hand with our cross-functional teams to better understand and optimise user journeys, applying those same learnings to our design execution.
The Product Design Team
At Medibank, Product Design spans the entire design process, from uncovering user needs through research to crafting exceptional visual and interaction design. Our approach is centred around putting people first, and we value collaboration across disciplines to learn from one another and continuously improve.
You’ll be joining a talented team of over 18 designers, each bringing their own unique skills and creativity to the table.
Beyond the core team, you’ll also collaborate with a broader community of diverse peers who share the same passion for making a positive impact on the health of everyday Australians. Together, this group brings a wide range of perspectives, backgrounds, and a collective enthusiasm for human-centred problem-solving.
While we’ve embraced async ways of working but make an effort to come into the office once a week to connect as humans and more broadly. (also to enjoy our brand new office)
You could be the one, if…
You're not afraid of a challenge, in fact you love the idea of making an impact and leaving your mark. You also have familiarity across frameworks like React, systems like AEM backed by experience and knowledge to speak to engineers so that you can bring your designs to life.
You've got a natural curiosity to solve problems and are articulate enough to collaborate and gain buy-in around your ideas. You'll be able to tie in your visual impact to improving the overall UX, your design chops around typography, grids and colour theory is respected.
To complement your visuals, you're able to coordinate and bring together design and product strategy, ideas and people to arrive at the best outcome for users. You take pride in your open-minded approach and team player mentality. You've also got resilience and a mental fortitude that allows you to deal with uncertainty and you're pro-active enough to seek clarity and information.
Your Figma files, frames and components are clean, layers logically grouped and named and you're a ninja with plugins to help improve your design workflow making you more efficient and effective.
You love design and stay up to date with all the latest and love sharing anyone that will listen.
These are some skills you’ll possess…
- Great communication skills, stakeholder management and ability to collaborate well within a team.
- Experienced in UX research and good analysis skills.
- Keen eye for detail, interactions and impeccable taste.
- Deep knowledge of UI best practices and design principles.
- Experience with design systems, use of tokens, creation of global components and accessibility.
- Experience with UX research and prototyping tools.
- High proficiency in Figma and familiarity with HTML, CSS, Responsive web front end frameworks and CMS such as AEM.

- You have a growth mindset, are well-organised, and excel at balancing the delivery of impactful work with a strong focus on achieving meaningful outcomes.
- You approach challenges with creativity, optimism, and a sense of humour.
- You're not afraid to think outside the box when it comes to problem-solving. While you follow the design process, you’re always open to trying new approaches, leveraging your growth mindset to be experimental and innovative.
