Senior Manager – Compliance Advisory
This role plays a critical part in uplifting and embedding Medibank’s enterprise‑wide compliance practices to support strong decision‑making, regulatory confidence and sustainable outcomes.
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance Frameworks and Policies, you will act as a senior compliance subject matter expert, providing thought leadership across compliance management. Working closely with senior leaders, you will design, modernise and embed Medibank’s compliance frameworks, policies and supporting processes in line with regulatory expectations, better practice and strategic priorities.
How you will create value
In this broad and dynamic role, you will add value by:
- Leading the design, maintenance and continuous improvement of enterprise‑wide compliance frameworks and policies, including the Compliance Management Framework, Obligations Management and Whistleblowing Frameworks.
- Ensuring alignment with APRA and broader regulatory expectations, better practice and Medibank’s strategic objectives.
- Driving compliance uplift initiatives and implementing changes arising from regulatory reform, CPS 220 expectations, regulatory reviews and assurance outcomes.
- Providing proactive, commercially grounded compliance advice on business initiatives, regulatory developments and strategic change.
- Supporting effective breach management, regulator engagement and notification processes.
- Facilitating structured compliance maturity assessments and providing actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Contributing as a senior leader within the Risk and Compliance community, supporting cultural and behavioural change initiatives and promoting group‑first outcomes.
About you
You are a senior compliance professional with strong experience operating in regulated financial services environments and a proven ability to shape and embed compliance frameworks at scale.
Your credibility, judgement and advisory capability will be critical to success in this role.
Key attributes and experience include:
- Extensive experience in compliance management and policy development within Australian financial services.
- Strong technical understanding of APRA prudential standards, including CPS 220, with experience delivering compliance uplift initiatives.
- Experience developing, implementing or advising on whistleblowing policies and frameworks is advantageous.
- Proven capability designing, modernising or embedding enterprise compliance frameworks and standards.
- Ability to provide clear, pragmatic and influential advice to senior stakeholders in complex environments.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence culture and uplift compliance capability across the organisation.
