We strive to make real, fundamental change, driven by a simple purpose: to create the best health and wellbeing for all of Australia.

The Opportunity: Senior Manager – Accountability

This role plays a critical part in strengthening the implementation of Medibank’s accountability framework, with a strong focus on the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR).

Reporting to the Head of Risk Culture, Accountability and Capability, you will work closely with senior leaders, Accountable Persons and key control functions to redesign and oversee Medibank’s FAR framework.

This role is ideally suited to someone with deep technical FAR expertise and proven experience operating within a FAR Team or Office in an APRA regulated financial services environment.

This is an opportunity to apply your regulatory knowledge, structured problem-solving capability and stakeholder influence to support strong governance, regulatory compliance and sustainable accountability outcomes.

How you will create value

In this broad and fast paced role, you will apply your specialist FAR and accountability expertise to add value by:

  • Leading the redesign, implementation and ongoing management of Medibank’s FAR framework.

  • Developing and maintaining FAR policies, procedures, guidance materials and governance documentation to support effective embedment.

  • Overseeing FAR accountability mapping, accountability statements and registration processes with APRA and ASIC.

  • Providing expert advice and practical guidance to Accountable Persons, including training and support.

  • Supporting the identification and management of FAR related breaches.

  • Monitoring regulatory developments and emerging expectations to ensure ongoing compliance with FAR requirements.

  • Building strong partnerships across Risk, Compliance and the broader business to embed best practice accountability and governance.

About you

You bring deep experience in accountability and regulatory frameworks, with a proven track record of operating within a FAR Team or Office in a large, APRA regulated organisation.

Your credibility, judgement and influencing capability will be critical to driving sustainable uplift in accountability and governance practices.

Key attributes and experience include:

  • Demonstrated experience working within a dedicated FAR Team, Office or equivalent accountability function in an APRA regulated financial services organisation – this experience is essential.

  • Strong technical understanding of FAR, accountability related regulatory frameworks, governance requirements and APRA standards (e.g. CPS 220, CPS 511, CPS 520).

  • Experience designing, implementing or overseeing accountability frameworks, policies and monitoring programs.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively with senior leaders and Accountable Persons.
