The Strategic Initiatives Manager will play a key role in the end to end delivery of public hospital and overseas network initiatives with the aim of achieving better outcomes, quality and affordability for our ahm and Medibank members.



Your impact


You will be responsible for implementing initiatives and ensuring the delivery against business case. You will own the  end-to-end management and delivery of public hospital and overseas benefits strategic initiatives (from ideation to build to implement and performance monitoring)

Further requirements will include:

  • Support with structured analysis of data to determine drivers and causal relationships monitor the performance of the public hospital and overseas benefits portfolio and identify opportunities.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics (before & after) to effectively account for project achievements.
  • Track and report execution performance. Create and update key artefacts to keep account of the progress and record of initiative.
  • Socialise key initiatives with key internal stakeholders across H&S and Overseas portfolio to attain feedback and endorsement.
  • Engage with external stakeholders (incl. public hospitals, GP and strategic partners) in workshops and meetings to co-design solutions and gather feedback.
  • Work with internal teams and enabling functions (e.g. analytics, clinical, strategy) to ensure consideration to all aspects and sound decision making.
  • Review operational inefficiencies - process re-engineering (with the aid of technology, where applicable).
  • Support the team with optimising processes to ensure efficient and effective management of the portfolio.


About you


  • Creative and critical and lateral thinking to solve complex problems. Analyse information available (quantitate / qualitative), hypothesis solutions, gather relevant data, extrapolate relevant insights using with further analysis and stakeholder engagement and propose solution(s) for endorsement.
  • Application of (strategic) frameworks. Use frameworks to identify trends/drivers and recommend and conceptualise solutions.
  • Design and implement solutions. Use service/solution design frameworks to engage with stakeholders and gather requirements to detail the solution and implement a proof of concept.
  • Analytical. Collect, organise, analyse and disseminate data and information in a meaningful way.
  • Communication. Compilation of information to share, inform and explore opportunities and outcomes.
  • Outcomes focused. Effectively manage the delivery of projects from end to end.
  • Managing relationships. Manage and engage stakeholders (internal and external) to build constructive relationships to help influence change, navigate complex conversation and deliver outcomes.
