The Role

Are you a passionate Engineer with a track record for building high-performance mobile solutions and achieving extraordinary business outcomes? You will be primarily responsible for Android development, while contributing to iOS initiatives where needed, delivering technology solutions that meet business needs and delight customers.

You will consider holistic solutions, applying design patterns that result in maintainable, scalable codebases with sound coding practices across both platforms. You will estimate and carry out development work to time, budget, and quality targets, in accordance with appropriate standards, and resolve technical issues that may arise during the development lifecycle.

This is a permanent opportunity suitable for a Senior Android engineer with experience in iOS development.

The Responsibilities:

• Completes development deliverables in a timely manner and to the appropriate level
• of quality so that the delivered solutions are fit-for purpose, can be efficiently supported and the impact of future change requests can be assessed.
• Works with DP&E, the Business and external partners to ensure that the technology solutions are delivered on time, on schedule and on budget.
• Collaborates with the team to provide estimations.
• Works across DP&E to assess system requirements and specifications, identifying and addressing any potential issues prior to implementation.
• Contributes to technical solutions of assigned technology solutions for initiatives.
• Assists and supports testing activities (e.g. System, Integration and User Acceptance).
• Lead Android development and contribute to iOS development where required, ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines and mentoring team members on best practices.
• Creates and updates application documentation so that support can be efficiently performed and the impact of future change requests can be assessed.
• Maintains an understanding of relevant industry trends and current knowledge of the technology deployed in the business area.
• Demonstrates sufficient consideration of customer needs and customer experience targets, as driven by business requirements.
• Contribute and improve our way of working across the team.
• Active participant within Community of Practices (COPs)
• Contributes to continuous improvements and constantly demonstrates a capability improvement mindset.

 About You:

• Extensive experience in Android mobile engineering using Kotlin, as well as utilizing Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Accessibility etc.

• Experienced in iOS mobile engineering using Swift, SwiftUI with a basic understanding of Apple HIG and accessibility.

• Knowledge of Architecture patterns (MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture).
• UI automation testing (Espresso), Unit Testing.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Fastlane.
• Static code analysis (Detekt, SonarQube).
• Familiarity with Crashlytics or equivalent.

• Unit/UI Testing (XCTest).
• Agile experienced (Scrum/Kanban).
• Miro, Figma, Jira, Confluence, Slack.
• API integration (REST/GraphQL).
• Security best practices and vulnerability management.
