The Opportunity – Senior Finance Analyst (Contract until 30th June 2026)

 

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Finance Analyst who is looking for a new challenge to expand on their finance knowledge.

This is a great opportunity to work closely with the Finance Business Partner by providing accurate financial and non-financial analysis and insight for the Financial Products and Live Better business units.

 

How you will create value

 

In this broad ranging role, you will use your exceptional analytical and technical skills to add value to Medibank by:

 

  • Identify performance improvement opportunities for the business and minimise business risks
  • Support budget and forecast revisions and liaise with Reporting COE to define standard management reporting requirements
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and modelling
  • Support the Business GM’s to deliver on their financial goals
  • Actively contributing to team deliverables outside of financial obligations utilising diverse skill set where value add most appropriate (excel training, commercial acumen, non-product person viewpoint etc).
  • Support efficiencies and process improvements
  • Provide analysis insights and commentary to be communicated at month end Finance and Business review meetings by the Finance Business Partner, as agreed
  • Deliver recommendations to the Finance Business Partner on request or on own initiative
  • Oversee and stress test financial modelling undertaken by business or external parties
  • Ensure complete and accurate planning submissions through in-depth understanding of the business unit activities and Strategy
  • Manage and adopt effective planning processes to facilitate identification of budget risks and potential opportunities
  • Advise Finance Business Partner in understanding key trends, both financial and operational, impacting their business line’s performance and how this may impact current budgets and the broader organisation results

 

 

About you

 

You have strong analytical skills and proven customer stakeholder engagement in a large corporate environment. With excellent analytic skills, you will demonstrate an understanding of budget forecasting and finalising monthly results. Your attention to detail and levels of accuracy will be crucial to performing in this role.

 

Other key attributes include:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a finance, statistical, actuarial or business-related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in turning large disparate data into actionable management information and insight, deliverable in a variety of written or verbal formats
  • Knowledge of SAP, General Ledger, Business Planning and Consolidation, Business Warehouse
