The Role

The Senior Endpoint Specialist plays a key role in supporting the organisation’s modern workplace environment. This position is responsible for the management, deployment, maintenance, and security of all end user devices across Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS, and Android platforms via Microsoft Intune and other tools.

The role also supports application packaging and software deployment, contributes to patching and vulnerability remediation, and ensures a seamless and secure digital workspace experience.

The Responsibilities:

  • Manage the configuration, enrolment, and lifecycle of end user devices through Microsoft Intune and other device management tools.
  • Ensure devices across all platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS, Android) remain compliant with organisational standards.
  • Support users through technical troubleshooting, escalations, and proactive resolution of device-related issues.
  • Build, test, and deploy application packages for enterprise use (e.g., MSI, Intune, JAMF packages).
  • Work with application owners and internal stakeholders to validate successful deployment and compatibility.
  • Maintain the application catalogue and ensure documentation is current and accurate.
  • Coordinate with the cybersecurity team to ensure all devices receive regular and critical patches.
  • Use Intune and supporting tools to schedule and monitor patch deployments, ensuring minimal business disruption.
  • Identify non-compliant or vulnerable devices and take action to remediate in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain documentation for standard operating procedures, build processes, packaging workflows, and support practices.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to streamline device onboarding, patching, and support processes.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives (e.g., scripting via PowerShell) to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate, test, and implement IW changes (e.g. software rollouts, policy updates) with minimal business disruption through formal change processes. 
  • Communicate planned changes to end users and stakeholders, ensuring documentation and scheduling align with CAB governance.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents related to end-user devices, applications, and services using tools like Intune. 
  • Accurately log, prioritize, and escalate issues as needed, ensuring timely updates and resolution for impacted users.
  • Identify recurring issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions to reduce incident volumes. 
  • Maintain and update knowledge articles and known error records to support faster issue resolution across the support team.
  • Act as a technical liaison between end users, support teams, and the Head of End User Computing.
  • Provide insights and feedback to shape the roadmap of intelligent workspace initiatives.
  • Support testing and rollout of new technologies as part of the digital workplace strategy.

 

About You:

  • Proven experience in modern device management across Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms using Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager).
  • Strong hands-on experience in software packaging and deployment across diverse device environments.
  • Solid understanding of patch management processes and vulnerability remediation.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation and reporting.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience resolving endpoint and application-related issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with JAMF for Mac device management.
  • Familiarity with conditional access, compliance policies, and mobile application management (MAM).
  • Exposure to enterprise ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator• Associate, JAMF or equivalent.
  • Develop and manage device compliance policies and integrate them with Conditional Access to enforce secure access controls.
  • Collaborate with identity/security teams to design, test, and implement CA policies that align with organisational security standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Conditional Access and device compliance, ensuring minimal disruption to end-user experience.
  • Stay current with Microsoft Endpoint Manager and CA feature updates to proactively assess impact and readiness.
