The Role
The Senior Business Analyst role will perform business and systems analysis in the enterprise delivery area. The role will work with business & technology teams to elicit and capture business and system requirements to support the discovery and delivery of solutions that provide business value. The role supports the team through the full end to end delivery lifecycle, taking on business analysis tasks, as agreed with the Delivery Lead, to support feasibility, requirements, solution options, design, testing, implementation and transition.
The role is internal customer, external customer and vendor facing and will require strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills in order to deliver required outcomes. Strong organisational, documentation skills & attention to detail are absolute musts.
This is a fixed term contract for initially 6 months with a view for extension.
The Responsibilities:
- Identify & engage multiple business and technology stakeholders to elicit requirements and determine innovative approaches to deliver to customer needs.
- Gather, review, categorise and document information from numerous sources
- Analyse business and technical needs within functional and technical areas and document requirements in a variety of levels, detail and formats to a ”fit for purpose” basis.
- Actively collaborate with immediate and wider team members to refine, manage and communicate business requirements.
- Develop scope, requirements, specifications, options & recommendations according to established documentation standards.
- Utilise industry and internal modelling techniques to assist in translation of information into process, logical and physical representations.
- Collaborate with internal and external business and technology teams including vendors to ensure proposed solutions meet the stated need and requirements.
- Facilitate traceability of the requirements through design, build, testing and deployment
- Responsible for scheduling, planning and managing own analysis activities with a strong delivery focus
- Be a key functional contact for delivery.
- Be a key advocate for the Medibank business, focused on providing business value via delivery of business and systems analysis services.
- Facilitate ideation activities such as brainstorming, discovery sessions, scope definition, research, competitor analysis, market research and options analysis.
- Leverage a range of industry analysis techniques, to suit the needs of the specific project activity.
- To support the team through the end-to-end delivery lifecycle in understanding and delivering to the relevant requirements:
- Risk, issue and dependency identification, analysis and actions
- Scope change impact analysis and change request definition
- Requirements traceability
- Test approach review and support test defect investigation
- Support in business change readiness analysis, process definition, communications, user training, cut over processes and operational handover
About You
- Proven track record with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in business analysis.
- Proven track record across the complete SDLC in variations of Agile and Waterfall, Incremental and Iterative development.
- Experience working on business change, systems applications and infrastructure related projects
- Experience facilitating workshops, running meetings and interviewing
- Experience eliciting requirements and information from all levels of staff, including senior stakeholders and technical and business SMEs.
- Experience understanding and documenting complex business problems and in modelling business benefits and performing cost benefits analysis
- Experience documenting requirements in a variety of formats across business, user, functional, non-functional and implementation detail levels including and not limited to user stories.
- Experience in managing and tracing requirements and their delivery.
- Experience in process mapping, data modelling and data structures.
- Experience gaining acceptance / sign off of documented requirements via a variety of methods.
- Experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment.
- Experience in business analysis on particularly challenging projects (high risk, high profile, strong politics, complex, transformational)
