The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Analyst - Group Strategy to play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Medibank’s enterprise and business unit strategy. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with experience across the full strategy toolkit, who thrives on solving complex problems and influencing senior stakeholders.

You will partner closely with leaders across the business to define medium- to long-term strategic ambitions, assess high-impact opportunities and support the execution of initiatives aligned to Medibank’s purpose of Better Health for Better Lives. Working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment, you’ll contribute to board and executive level decision making while helping strengthen our Group Strategy centre of excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of Medibank’s enterprise and business unit strategies, including long-term ambitions, OKRs and measures of success
  • Lead and contribute to complex, high-impact strategic projects across market verticals and execution or enablement domains
  • Conduct rigorous assessments of strategic opportunities, including new markets, products, investments and partnerships
  • Develop insightful analysis on market developments, industry trends, competitor activity and Medibank’s competitive positioning
  • Build robust financial models and commercial analysis to support strategic recommendations and investment decisions
  • Prepare high-quality, zero‑defect materials for the Board, Group Executives and C‑suite stakeholders
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to scope, prioritise and deliver strategy-led programs of work
  • Leverage technology and AI tools to enhance the quality, speed and effectiveness of strategy workflows
  • Contribute to enterprise-wide thinking and facilitate the sharing of insights to improve decision-making across the Group

 

Must haves:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in management consulting and/or an in-house corporate strategy role within a large, complex organisation (ASX‑100 experience highly regarded)
  • Familiarity with the health sector and its operating environment will be highly advantageous.
  • Strong strategic and analytical capability, with a structured approach to complex problem solving
  • Proven experience in financial analysis and modelling (e.g. forecasting, NPV, DCF, ROI, valuation techniques)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality executive and board-level presentations and papers
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of growth, customer and operational performance levers
  • Experience engaging, influencing and working with senior stakeholders in complex environments
  • Familiarity with technology and AI tools (including generative AI) to support strategic decision-making and workflow optimisation
  • A collaborative, adaptable and results-driven mindset aligned to purpose-led, human-centred values
