The Opportunity | Senior Adviser – Management Assurance 

 

As a Senior Adviser – Management Assurance, you will provide ‘first line of defence’ advice to the business in managing its risk and compliance obligations, embed strong risk culture practices, and ensure the business is well positioned to respond to emerging risks, regulatory change and business transformation initiatives. This will include the facilitation of risk management and remediation activities, including incident, control and action management. This role will support senior stakeholders across the Excellence Hubs.  

 

How you will create value 

 

In this broad ranging role, you will use your exceptional relationship management skills and risk management knowledge to add value to Medibank by: 

 

  • Supporting the implementation of Medibank’s risk management and compliance frameworks and strategy. 

  • Supporting the business in interpreting, reviewing and managing obligations. 

  • Preparing high quality reporting and insights for Divisional Risk Committees on risk and compliance matters, including performance against Medibank’s risk management and compliance frameworks. 

  • Engaging in Hub risk profiling activities across the Excellence Hubs (including reporting to the Divisional and Executive Risk Committees). 

  • Supporting the business in identifying and managing incidents (operational risk events, including compliance and regulatory incidents). 

  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve the control design, strength and mix across the business to reduce the likelihood and impact of operational risk incidents. 

  • Working collaboratively with the business to document and execute action plans where inefficiencies or improvement opportunities are identified via incidents, control testing or risk profiling activities. 

  • Developing strong, transparent and collaborative relationships with Senior Management across the Excellence Hubs to influence meaningful change and embed risk culture. 

 

About you 

 

You have a proven understanding of risk management frameworks and operational risk methodologies, with a demonstrated ability to embed these in a dynamic environment.  

 

Other key requirements include: 

  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. A proven ability to partner with the business (including directly with Group and Hub Leads) to shape risk-informed strategy and decision making. 

  • Demonstrated communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills. A proven ability to rationalise and clearly articulate complex concepts and insights. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in an autonomous working environment, and manage competing priorities in a professional manner. 

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
