The Opportunity


We have a permanent opportunity for a Senior Pricing Analyst in the Actuarial Services Product and Pricing team.  This is an important technical pricing specialist role critical in enabling the team to meet responsibilities relating to the quality of the actuarial advice provided. This role will focus on technical analysis and modelling to create actionable insights and inform business decisions on health insurance pricing, product development and customer propositions.


How you will create value


In this role you will support Actuarial Services at Medibank to meet its obligations, contribute to the success of the organisation and enable Medibank to achieve its objectives.  The successful candidate will contribute to this by:

  • Informing – Illuminating and surfacing awareness of potential impacts of pricing decisions, based on analysis of data that brings to light the issues and metrics that matter (Better confidence)

About You


You are a data-driven professional with a demonstrated background in an actuarial, financial and/or analytics role. You are an excellent communicator with proven success developing and presenting analytic insights to business stakeholders, to help them make informed, data driven decisions. Your high attention to detail, problem solving mindset and ability to work flexibly in a team environment to changing business needs will set you up for success in this role.

Other key requirements of this role include:

  • Analytics, actuarial, statistics qualifications; Associate member of the Actuaries Institute (or recognised overseas actuarial body) or similar professional organisation preferred, but not a key requirement where candidate demonstrates requisite skills and mindset.
  • Strong financial modelling skills (Advanced MS Excel skills and advanced SAS). Knowledge in other database platforms and visualisation tools, such as SQL, R and Tableau, is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Customer focus - willingness to understand internal customers’ needs.
