SAP Application Specialist

The SAP Application Specialist is responsible for the operational support, stability, continuous improvement and business continuity of Medibank's SAP solutions, with a primary focus on SAP FS-PM (Policy Management). Working closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, technical consultants and external partners, the role investigates and resolves production incidents, performs root cause analysis, undertakes approved policy data corrections, and contributes to improvements that enhance system reliability, performance and supportability. The role requires a balanced combination of functional knowledge, technical troubleshooting capability and strong customer focus.

This is a new entry/mid-level opportunity suitable for someone with a desire to learn more about SAP, debug code and fix poduction incidents. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote operational excellence and support best practices.
• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for SAP applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative actions.
• Monitor jobs, interfaces, queues and application processing.
• Work with business stakeholders and vendors to resolve issues.
• Follow ITIL, ITSM, change and release management processes.
• Support restoration of policy integrity following processing issues or defects.
• Support testing of production fixes and minor enhancements.
• Maintain support documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles.
• Assist with documenting enhancement opportunities and business requirements.

About You

• Ideally experience supporting SAP applications within a production environment.
• Strong incident management, troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability.
• Ability to analyse application behaviour across both functional and technical domains.
• Experience performing controlled business data correction activities.
• Experience monitoring jobs, interfaces, queues and application processing.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Experience working within ITIL-based service management environments.

Nice to have

• SAP FS-PM (Policy Management) experience highly desirable.
• Insurance industry knowledge highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of ABAP sufficient to analyse code and debug issues.
• Experience using SAP debugging techniques to investigate and resolve issues.
• Experience with SAP CRM, integrations, web services or related technologies desirable.
