The Opportunity  

Are you a passionate QA Leader with a track record for building high-performance teams and achieving extraordinary business outcomes? The position of the QA Lead holds a leadership role in Medibank's Digital Platforms and Engineering team. Reporting directly to the QA Practice Lead, this role carries the responsibility of leading a team of QA’s to undertake all quality engineering activities required to deliver technology solutions that meet the business needs. 
 

Some of your duties include:  

• Leading QAs to undertake testing activities required to deliver high-quality technology solutions to meet the business needs.
• Apply Test modelling techniques & QA best practices to help the delivery teams improve in building quality solutions.  
• Drives a culture where teams own quality and work towards defect prevention on top of defect detection. 
• Ensure the teams are thinking about best ways to measure the quality of the solutions and track it across time. 
• Drive improvement of measurement & visualisation of quality metrics. 
• Direct line management of a group of QA Engineers of up to 8.
• Responsible for test planning and execution across applications (APIs, web, mobile databases).
   

Your strengths and experience: 

You are a passionate Quality and Automation Lead with a track record for managing high performance QA teams and achieving extraordinary delivery outcome via manual and automation testing.  

Drawing from previous experience, you have strong stakeholder engagement skills and a natural ability to influence outcomes. You understand the importance of collaboration and teamwork for delivery outcomes. 

You are a seasoned professional who can formulate a vision and achieve successful business outcomes through collaborative teamwork and responsible decision-making. 

Other required skills  

• Strong/expert code, infrastructure, and database problem diagnosis skills. 
• Proven experience in an Agile working environment.  
• Experience in integrating test automation frameworks with a CI/CD model and tools. 
• Extensive testing experience with hands on test automation experience in web, app, and API.  
• Experience working across multiple test automation tools and frameworks. Preferably Playwright, Postman, and native mobile app. 
• Ability to lead and mentor others.
