Product Owner – Tech Resilience, Recoverability & Emerging Risk

As a Product Owner – Tech Resilience, Recoverability & Emerging Risk, you'll help shape how Medibank prepares for, responds to and recovers from technology disruptions. Working across technology, risk, cyber security and architecture teams, you'll drive resilience initiatives that protect critical services while supporting innovation and emerging technologies.

Summary

This is a unique opportunity to influence how technology resilience is embedded across one of Australia's leading health organisations. You'll help strengthen Medibank's ability to recover from disruptions, assess emerging technology risks and support informed decision-making across cloud, digital workplace, AI and enterprise technology platforms.

You'll work with leaders and technical specialists across the business to balance innovation, risk and resilience, ensuring the technology services our customers and people rely on remain secure, dependable and fit for the future.

What you'll be doing

• Owning and evolving the technology resilience and recoverability roadmap across Enterprise Technology Services.
• Defining resilience standards, measures and practices that support business continuity objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Driving improvements to recoverability across cloud platforms, workplace technologies, network services, software applications and supporting infrastructure.
• Embedding resilience and recoverability thinking into technology design, engineering and operational processes.
• Coordinating recovery testing activities and validating readiness across critical technology services.
• Assessing technology platforms and services to identify dependencies, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
• Developing meaningful reporting, insights and measures that help leaders understand resilience risks and readiness.
• Monitoring emerging technology, industry and external risk trends that could impact business operations.
• Partnering with architecture, cyber security, engineering and risk teams to ensure resilience considerations are included in technology decisions.
• Reviewing supplier resilience capabilities and providing independent advice on operational and recovery risks.

You might already have the skills for this role if you…

• Have experience working as a Product Owner, Senior Business Analyst or in a similar role where you've delivered outcomes across complex technology environments.
• Understand business continuity, disaster recovery or operational resilience principles and can apply them to real-world technology challenges.
• Can identify risks, analyse dependencies and translate complex information into practical recommendations and action plans.
• Build strong relationships and communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Have experience working with enterprise technologies such as cloud platforms, infrastructure, networking, digital workplace technologies or service management environments.
• Enjoy balancing innovation, customer outcomes and risk considerations to support effective decision-making and long-term business resilience.
