Privacy & Trust Lead

The Opportunity - Privacy & Trust Lead  

This role plays a critical part in shaping and embedding Medibank’s enterprise-wide privacy and data ethics approach, supporting our ambition to be recognised as a trusted health partner. 

Reporting to the Head of Trust & Ethics, you will act as a senior subject matter expert, leading the development and implementation of Medibank’s Privacy Management Framework. Working across the business, you will drive uplift in privacy maturity, governance and capability, ensuring the responsible use of data while enabling innovation and customer value.  

How you will create value 

In this broad and dynamic role, you will add value by: 

• Leading the design, implementation and continuous improvement of Medibank’s Privacy Management Framework and strategy. 

• Driving enterprise-wide privacy capability uplift, embedding “privacy by design” and strong data ethics practices. 

• Establishing governance, reporting and processes to ensure compliance with privacy obligations and regulatory requirements. 

• Partnering with senior stakeholders to align privacy strategies with business objectives and customer outcomes. 

• Providing trusted advice on privacy risks, controls and emerging regulatory expectations. 

• Overseeing privacy incident management, complaints handling and continuous improvement of operational processes. 

• Delivering thought leadership by monitoring industry trends, regulatory change and evolving customer expectations. 

About you 

You are an experienced privacy, risk or compliance leader with a strong track record operating in complex and highly regulated environments. 

Key attributes and experience include: 

• Significant experience in privacy, risk or compliance, including designing and embedding privacy frameworks. 

• Demonstrated experience driving organisational uplift in governance, risk and compliance capability. 

• Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across complex environments. 

• Experience in incident management, PIAs, and privacy risk management practices. 

• Interest or exposure to data ethics, ESG or emerging areas such as AI governance is highly regarded.
