The Opportunity


As an Operations Manager with Medibank based in Melbourne, you will be responsible for managing a team of specialist subject matter experts to ensure that the client is not paying for improper claims.


This role contributes to the development and implementation of new initiatives that will enhance financial outcomes for clients.


In this role you will be required to:

  • Establish relationships with external and internal stakeholders and influence positive outcomes that will benefit client’s customers
  • Work closely with the client to identify and implement new payment integrity initiatives and enhancements
  • Evaluate and relay the success of the payment integrity initiatives
  • Ensure ongoing oversight of a dedicated Operations team
  • Develop and execute strategies designed to improve the identification of inappropriate claims
  • Liaise with the Contracts & Compliance Manager to ensure that compliance risks and controls are identified, developed, documented, actioned and monitored in line with compliance obligations
  • Manage the day to day operations and be responsible for mentoring and development of the team


Reporting in to the Head of Payor Services, in this role you will be responsible for at least five direct reports.

About you


To succeed in this role, you will ideally have at least 5-7 years operations management and leadership experience in a health, health funds insurance or professional services organisation.


You have an analytical mind with the ability to identify trends in data and creatively work towards solutions.


You are a results driven individual with a strong risk and quality focus.


It is essential that you have payment or claims integrity experience.


You will be qualified with a degree and have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and operationalise strategic plans.
