If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join our amazing Virtual Mental Health team. In this role you will have the opportunity to work from home, choosing flexible hours and rosters, and you can be based anywhere in Australia (including regional/rural areas)
As an Amplar Mental Health Professional, you will play a key role in providing phone and web-based support to people across a spectrum of mental health issues.
This will involve mental health assessment and triage, risk assessment and safety planning, psychoeducation and brief interventions, on referral to other mental health services, and crisis intervention when needed.
Training and start dates
We provide full-time paid (9.00 am to 5.00 pm NSW time) virtual training with start dates available throughout June and July. (Please note you must be available to complete the full-time training to be considered)
After training you will receive ongoing support from our experienced team of Senior clinicians who will guide you in your journey with us.
Hours and FTE
We can offer part-time (22.5 hrs) to full-time (37.5 hrs) contracts, working shifts between 9.00 am to 10.00 pm NSW local time, Monday to Friday. No nights or weekends required (though overnight and weekend shifts may be available on a voluntary basis once experienced in the role).
This role will be offered as a fixed term contract until 30th June 2026, with a possibility of extension.
Work from home requirements
- This is a virtual role, providing services via telephone, email and webchat
- You need fast reliable internet with a min of 50 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload speeds.
About You
To be successful in your application for this role you will have:
- Clinical Mental Health Qualifications in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or Occupational Therapy (Please note that candidates with a different qualification will not be considered for this role)
- Registration/Professional Membership (unrestricted AHPRA registration or AASW Membership or ability to obtain it)
- Acute Mental Health Experience - at least 3 years' recent full-time (or equivalent) experience in acute mental health setting (at least some experience working with adult populations). Broad demonstrated knowledge and experience in actively assessing, managing and supporting individuals who are currently experiencing acute, active symptoms/episodes across a range of mental health concerns including psychosis, acute suicidality, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of common private and public referral and treatment pathways within a stepped model of care provision.
- Computer competence and fluency - Experience in managing, or ability to manage multiple computer systems and familiarity and comfort with Microsoft Office tools
- Flexibility - Willingness to adapt current clinical skills to new models of intervention as required by individual programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
