In this role you will manage Medibank’s and ahm’s commercial relationships with medical specialists. Reporting to the Senior Executive – Hospital, Medical and Overseas Benefits, you will optimise value and directly contribute to achieving our Triple Aim of Healthcare (outcome, quality and affordability).


You will impact by

  • Supporting the implementation of Healthcare & Strategy divisional strategy to support our relationships with Medical specialists and the benefits that we pay for services performed in hospital.
  • Working closely with the benefits and provider strategy team to identify and build a potential pipeline of specialists to target for recruitment into a specialist network.
  • Building relationship with broad range of specialists, acting as the single point of contact for specialist queries relating to contracted work.
  • Recruiting specialists to participate in short stay / no gap trials.
  • Negotiating and executing specialist contracts, and monitoring specialist performance.
  • Working internally to improve the administration and management of specialist data and coordination.

This role is a unique opportunity that enables the right individual to influence healthcare systems by working by working with senior leaders at Medibank to solve complex problems and drive change.


About you

You are ambitious and driven with extensive commercial experience. You have managed relationships with medical specialists or other healthcare providers in your previous roles in sales, business development or clinical management. You also have the ability to analyse commercial information, such as medical specialist benefit outlays, customer out-of-pocket data, and craft strategies to support your work.

You bring structured problem-solving and exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to consult, engage and influence across diverse stakeholder groups both internal and external to Medibank. You enjoy working autonomously and thrive when faced with complex challenges.
