  • Work with a wide variety of business areas within the C&P division including Consumer, Corporate and Overseas private health insurance Product and Marketing teams, Customer Channels, Digital, Loyalty, Member Health and Strategy & Partnerships.
  • Build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic and operational goals, including often working on cross-functional projects.
  • Manage engagements with external law firms when appropriate.

About you

You will have experience in a wide range of areas of commercial practice, including in some or all of the following areas; Australian Consumer Law, Privacy law, National Law, Spam Act and/or Private Health Insurance regulations.  You are a critical thinker who understands the need for a risk-based approach when providing legal advice. You will be adaptable and comfortable working as part of an agile team, able to prioritise and reprioritise, while maintaining a strong client service orientation.   Above all, you thrive on building trusted advisor relationships with multiple stakeholders and can communicate complex information in a really clear and simple way.

In addition to the above you will have:

  • A Bachelor of Laws, and admission to practice in Australia, ideally with at least 2 years post qualification experience.
  • The ability to act independently and provide commercially focussed legal advice to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Strong presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate legal issues to non-lawyers and ensure that advice is trusted and understood.
  • Good judgment and creativity to resolve complex issues and escalate appropriate issues.
