At Medibank, Internal Audit is more than controls testing and compliance reviews. Our team partners closely with the business to provide valuable insights, challenge thinking, and help drive better outcomes for our customers, people and organisation.

We're currently seeking 2 x experienced Internal Audit professionals to join our team on 15 month fixed-term contracts, covering parental leave. These are key opportunities in our Internal Audit team, and suited to individuals who enjoy applying judgement, influencing stakeholders and taking a thoughtful, risk-based approach to complex business challenges.

Depending on your experience and capability, the successful candidate may be appointed at either Senior Internal Auditor or Internal Audit Manager level.

The Opportunity

As part of our collaborative and highly regarded Internal Audit team, you'll lead and contribute to a diverse portfolio of audits across the business, from planning and fieldwork through to reporting and stakeholder engagement.

This is a modern, dynamic audit function where curiosity and critical thinking are highly valued. You'll be encouraged to look beyond controls and testing, challenge assumptions, navigate grey areas, and provide meaningful insights that support better decision making.

You'll work closely with senior leaders across the business on a diverse range of audits, providing trusted advice, delivering meaningful insights and presenting findings that support informed decision-making at Executive and Board level. Success in this role requires strong judgement, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the confidence to influence and challenge constructively when needed.

Both roles will also see you reinforce risk management within Medibank's culture and contribute to the ongoing maturity of our control environment.

About You

We're keen to hear from experienced Internal Audit professionals who bring:

• Significant Internal Audit experience within complex and heavily-regulated environments, with internal audit experience across the audit lifecycle including planning, leading and/or executing internal audits across a range of risk areas.  Ideally experienced within Financial Services, Private Health Insurance, or Health sectors, and, a solid understanding of regulatory Health frameworks and/or APRA prudential requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders and the proven ability to develop and deliver clear and insightful reports and presentations for senior management and governance forums.
• Experience delivering end-to-end audits and providing risk-based challenge and insights.
• Experience auditing projects, transformation initiatives or business change programs.
• Exposure to data analytics, AI-related risks or technology-enabled auditing.
• A proven track record of identifying risks, control weaknesses and process improvement opportunities.
• Relevant professional qualifications (such as CA, CPA, CIA or equivalent) are desirable.
  
  

Most importantly, you'll enjoy working in partnership with stakeholders, be comfortable navigating ambiguity, and have the confidence to ask the right questions and challenge established thinking.
