The Opportunity

Join Medibank in a key role within our Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Squad as a HSW Systems & Compliance Lead. In this role, you’ll lead the ongoing development and maintenance of our health, safety and wellbeing systems, ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting our self-insurance license obligations. You’ll also drive continuous improvement, manage the HSW assurance program, and turn data into insights that help us create a safer, healthier workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Management System: Ongoing development and maintenance of a practical, compliant HSMS that reflects best practice and meets business needs.

Legislative Compliance & Risk: Ensure compliance with WHS legislation across multiple jurisdictions and maintain our self-insurance obligations.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Oversee incident management systems, analyse data, and prepare reports for leadership and regulatory requirements.

Audit & Verification: Coordinate the HSW assurance program including self-insurance audits and ensure timely close-out of actions.

Training & Capability: Support WHS training programs and embed human-centred design principles into processes and learning.

Must Haves

Proven experience in a similar role and 5+ years of experience in Workplace Health & Safety

Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and experience in a multi-jurisdictional environment.

Experience managing health and safety systems and preparing for audits (ISO45001 and self-insurance highly regarded).

Skilled in data analysis and reporting, experience with Donesafe reporting system is advantageous.
