As part of the Policy, Advocacy and Reputation squad, you’ll play a key role in building expertise in policy and regulatory settings relevant to PHI, private and public healthcare.  You will also maintain a contemporary understanding of the reform landscape and opportunities and support how Medibank influences and shapes reform.

This key role will work as a business partner with internal stakeholders across Medibank’s health insurance and health services business and support the Head of Health Policy, Hub leads and Group leads to develop policy priorities and support advocacy with key stakeholders.

Where You Can Make a Difference:

• Develop and maintain expertise in health policy and the regulatory framework for Australia’s health system and the policy levers available to drive reform
• Prepare responses to industry consultations as required, in collaboration with internal SMEs
• Support the Head of Health Policy to deliver the health policy program of work
• Prepare thought leadership (incl. whitepapers and reports) on health system reform opportunities
• Support Hubs and Squads across Customer, Amplar and PAR by acting as internal adviser on health policy, including considerations for current initiatives and opportunities
• Help to shape the culture, direction reputation of the Policy Advocacy and Reputation Group and Healthcare Funding and Policy Hub at Medibank

What You Bring to the Table:

• A deep understanding of the healthcare system, funding principles and regulatory frameworks
• Exceptional relationship-building skills to and ability to influence senior stakeholders
• A strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities seamlessly.
• Stellar communication skills for engaging with Executives and key decision-makers.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to change.
• Demonstrated leadership and engagement capabilities and ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
• Previous experience working in a health strategy or policy role, either as an internal consultant or in-house advisor is desirable
