The Opportunity

 

At Medibank we have a clear purpose to impact better health outcomes for our customers, patients and our community. Within this role you will be accountable for assessing whether Medibank’s investments are translating into the delivery of our purpose – “for better health”.

 

You will be responsible for leading Medibank’s Health Evaluation Strategy through design and oversight of program evaluations, including program logic, outcome measures and data collection strategies. You will take the lead on reporting on the health outcomes delivered through our programs and assessing return on investment, along with identifying areas for improvement while working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including service providers.

 

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Provide an objective and measurable evidence base regarding the services Medibank commissions on behalf of their members and customers by designing and overseeing evaluations
  • Represent Medibank as the Health Evaluation lead at meetings with service providers; ensuring program fidelity, data quality and completeness.
  • Support, lead and supervise multi-disciplinary teams to implement agreed evaluation strategies including quantitative analysts, clinical specialists and program managers.
  • Reporting on the health outcomes delivered through our programs, and opportunities for improvement to senior executives 

 

What we are looking for

We are looking for pragmatic thinker with an extensive healthcare/ health services background in evaluations, strategic project management, as well as the ability to build rapport and manage relationships at all levels. Someone who is passionate about improving the way healthcare is delivered, and that has an expert ability to translate medical and public health information. You will have a strong track record in developing, designing and implementing strategic health evaluations that deliver tangible outcomes and pragmatic recommendations. 

 

More about you

  • Degree qualified in Health Sciences, Public Health, Biostatistics or equivalent 
  • Experience in designing large scale program evaluation strategies
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and expertise in evaluation design and use of health administrative data
  • Confident in communicating at all levels
