Health & Safety Advisor

The Opportunity – HSW Advisor 

This role plays a critical part in supporting the delivery of Medibank's Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) programs, systems and risk management activities. Working as part of the HSW Squad, you will provide practical advice, coordination and operational support that helps embed safe and healthy ways of working across the business. 

Reporting to the Workplace Safety Lead, you will partner with HSW colleagues and stakeholders across Medibank to support risk management, incident management, early intervention activities and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety outcomes and employee wellbeing. 

How you will create value 

In this varied and hands-on role, you will add value by: 

• Supporting workplace health and safety risk management activities, including risk assessments, inspections and preventative safety initiatives. 

• Coordinating incident management processes, supporting investigations and ensuring actions are completed to reduce future risk. 

• Assisting with early intervention, workplace adjustments and ergonomic assessments that support employee wellbeing and recovery at work. 

• Analysing HSW data and providing reporting and insights that inform decision-making and continuous improvement. 

• Coordinating HSW projects, programs and initiatives that support squad priorities and operational safety outcomes. 

• Partnering with stakeholders across the business to strengthen risk controls, promote safe work practices and build a positive safety culture. 

About you 

You are a proactive and organised health and safety professional who enjoys working collaboratively and making a practical impact. You combine strong relationship-building skills with a solution-focused mindset and are confident managing competing priorities while supporting safe and healthy workplace outcomes. 

Key attributes and experience include:

• Experience working within a Workplace Health and Safety, People & Culture or related environment. 

• Knowledge of workplace risk management, incident management and investigation processes. 

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 

• Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships. 

• Experience analysing information, preparing reports and identifying opportunities for improvement. 

• Certificate or Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety, or willingness to work towards one, will be highly regarded.
