The role:

Reporting to the Senior Forecasting Analyst, the Actuarial Analyst – Financial Services, is a great opportunity to join the team in 6-8 -month fixed term contract.


Your impact:

• Assist with the development of Corporate Plan, periodic forecasts, and monthly spot forecasts

• Undertake, with guidance, analysis to support the business in understanding trends and variances (movements) underlying the actual and expected experience vs forecast assumptions.

• Use various well-developed analytical techniques and tools to analyse key business drivers, and use the analysis to answer senior stakeholder questions, and set forecasting assumptions.

• Participate in development and maintenance of forecasting tools, with a focus on robust, timely and accurate production that meets the business’ evolving needs

• Participate in development of forecasts for corporate plan and scenarios

• Communicate proactively with stakeholders on any unusual data, trend process, or technical outcomes throughout the forecast process.

• Communicate outside actuarial services to enable others to understand and appropriately utilise forecasts and understand risks around forecast/plan decisions.


Your strengths and experience:

• Analytics, actuarial, statistics, and/or finance qualifications.

• 2+ years’ experience working in an analyst, actuarial and/or insurance role, with PHI experience highly regarded.

• Financial modelling skills including Advanced MS Excel skills or BPC desirable.

• Other coding skills (eg SQL, SAS, R, or python) desirable.

• Customer focus - willingness to understand internal stakeholders and Medibank customers’ needs.

• Experience in model and process automation and model risk mitigation desirable.

• Strong communication and partnering skills.



Your qualifications:

You are degree qualified in either finance, statistical acturial or a similar business-related discipline.
