The Opportunity 

As the Finance Partner – Excellence Hubs you will act as the primary finance support to the Excellence Hub Leadership Team acting as trusted advisor, business partner and strategy consultant within the business whilst maintaining financial governance and accountability. You will lead, coach and enable one direct report, to support our Group Executives – Excellence Hubs and their team as they continue to enable our businesses.  

How you will create value 

In this broad ranging and fast paced role, you will use your exceptional leadership and technical skills to add value to Medibank by: 

• Delivering timely and strategic insight to the Excellence Hubs Group Executives and, respective Hub Leads and PHI Finance via development and management of a constantly evolving suite of financial and operational key performance indicators. 

• Managing a team of one direct report. 

• Lead and mentoring a high performing team to ensure critical support to the business is achieved. 

• Reviewing month end management expense reporting and provide meaningful analysis and commentary on results / budgets / forecasts highlighting drivers of performance, opportunities, risks and implications for the outlook period. 

• Co-ordinating, management and responsibility for delivery and presentation of the Corporate Plan and Forecasts including strategic initiative overlays.    

• Influencing initiatives via strategic input at development phase and subsequently through industry leading financial benefits and opportunity cost modelling and stress testing. 

• Working with Hub Leads to lead and influence integrated and cross functional solutions. 

• Support cost reduction initiatives and ensure savings targets are achieved. 

About You 

You have proven leadership capability with a track record of success coaching and enabling others to foster talent and improve performance. With excellent relationship management skills, you build trusted relationships quickly and have demonstrated experience influencing outcomes across all levels of an organisation. 

You are adaptable with a continuous improvement mindset, experience supporting a technology and operations function is also highly desirable.  

Other key requirements include: 

• CA or CPA qualified. 

• Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in finance / business strategy / consultation / decision support preferably in the financial services industry 

• Reporting and dashboard development experience, including highly advanced excel skills. 

• Best practice financial benefits and opportunity cost modelling, business forecasting and performance reporting experience. 

• Prior experience in managing a team 

• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and executives via immediate strategic insight, strong articulation skills and commercial acumen
