The Opportunity – Finance Analyst

As a Finance Analyst (Data & Technology) within the Finance & Strategy Division at Medibank, you will be responsible for assisting the Finance Business Partner by providing accurate financial and non-financial analysis, to associated business units. You are required to have 2-3 years of experience in Management Accounting within a large corporate environment.

How you will create value

In this broad ranging role, you will utilise your technical background to add value to Medibank by:

Assisting in ad-hoc analysis, including deep dives with an aim to provide richer insights to stakeholders.

Developing and maintaining crucial relationships with key stakeholders including the Finance Business Partner and Squad Lead (Data & Technology).

Assisting with BAU as well as Project budget and forecast planning, monthly reporting and ensuring the integrity of month end results.

Contributing to the month end reporting processes, provide meaningful analysis and commentary on results/budgets/forecasts highlighting drivers of performance, opportunities, risks and implications for the outlook period.

Supporting budgeting and forecasting, as well as corporate plan financials for Data & Technology.

Assist with the development of robust financial modelling to support business cases, changing resourcing requirements, new initiatives and tender responses

Support the Financial Business Partner as a trusted financial advisor and negotiator interpreting commercial context to align the agendas of the business with Finance.

Ensure reported results, forecasts and budgets are robust, accurate and prepared in accordance with Medibank and accounting guidelines

About you

A key element of this role is to assist Hub Leads to deliver on their financial goals, ensuring you have strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Other key experience includes:

2-3 years’ experience in Management Accounting in a large corporate environment.

CA or CPA qualification in a finance, statistical, actuarial or business-related discipline.

Proven ability to successfully build and manage relationships working with leaders

Demonstrated experience in turning large disparate data into actionable management information and insight, deliverable in a variety of written or verbal formats
