The role: 


The Digital Senior Automation Engineer is a tester role within Medibank’s Digital Services and Solutions (DSS) team under Digital Quality and Automation Leader.

The key purpose of the role is to perform testing related activities on digital platforms using test automation approaches/standards to feed into the CI/CD approach. Working within a fast-paced environment with a variety of projects including web technologies, iOS and android operating systems, native & hybrid mobile apps.


Where you can add value:


  • Perform automated regression testing.
  • Build and develop processes for identifying test conditions and then transformed them into test cases prior to utilising Digital’s automation framework and process.
  • Reporting on the defect retest and regression testing.
  • Enhance/update automation scripts wherever required using current automation framework
  • Documenting and highlighting potential risk and issues to the testing team.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and ensure the solution is fit for purpose and aligns with customer needs and experience.
  • Be part of all sprint cadences and provide inputs on testing tasks and estimates.
  • Support quality assurance standards detailed within the Medibank digital test strategy and test policy.

What can you bring?


  • A strong experience with testing on mobile apps and web-applications.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile & web technologies, iOS and android operating systems, native & hybrid mobile apps.
  • Experience working within an agile environment utilising BDD.
  • Hands on experience on Selenium, Appium tool sets with Java using cucumber, TestNG frameworks
  • Exposure to cloud service providers -AWS device farm, sauce lab, browser stack, CBT
  • Hands on experience in Tosca Commander automation tool.
  • Experience in API testing using postman, Rest Assured, SOAP services
  • Understanding of test levels, test types and varied advanced test techniques; and
  • Experience with AEM/CQS would be highly desirable
  • Experience with Agile tools like Jira, Stash (bit bucket) & confluence highly desirable
  • Experience in CI/CD set up using Jenkins
