The Opportunity – Digital Health and Innovation Lead 

This newly created role sits at the intersection of digital transformation and innovation, helping shape how digital health and emerging technologies are integrated across Medibank. Reporting to the Squad Lead, Health Advisory, you will lead the identification, assessment and implementation of innovative digital health solutions that are clinically safe, strategically aligned and deliver meaningful outcomes for customers, patients and our people. Working across clinical, operational and digital teams, you will play a key role in advancing Medibank's digital health agenda and future-focused healthcare delivery.

In this broad and dynamic role, you will add value by: 

• Leading the identification and prioritisation of digital health, AI and emerging technology opportunities aligned to Medibank's strategic objectives. 

• Driving the assessment, piloting and implementation of innovative digital health solutions, ensuring they meet clinical governance, safety, privacy and risk requirements. 

• Building and maintaining a structured innovation and partnerships pipeline, translating strategic priorities into practical and scalable initiatives. 

• Providing expert advice on the clinical, operational and customer impact of new technologies and digital health solutions. 

• Building digital health capability across the Health Advisory Squad and broader enterprise through practical tools, frameworks, education and thought leadership. 

• Fostering strong partnerships across clinical, operational, technology and external stakeholder groups to ensure successful adoption and sustainable outcomes. 

• Acting as a trusted advisor and connector between clinical, business and technology teams to support innovation that is grounded in real-world clinical needs.  

About you 

You are an experienced medical professional with a strong background in digital health, innovation or transformation. You bring a strategic mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate complex concepts into practical solutions. Your passion for improving healthcare outcomes through innovation, combined with your clinical credibility and collaborative approach, will enable you to thrive in this role.  

Key attributes and experience include: 

• Medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) with significant clinical experience. 

• Demonstrated experience in digital health, healthcare innovation, transformation or health informatics. 

• Experience working across clinical and non-clinical teams to deliver strategic initiatives and organisational outcomes. 

• Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, safety and regulatory considerations relating to digital health solutions. 

• Knowledge of emerging technologies including AI, virtual care and data-enabled healthcare solutions. 

• Proven ability to influence stakeholders, build partnerships and navigate complex organisational environments. 

• Excellent communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and drive practical outcomes.
