The Opportunity

Medibank is embarking on a multi-year strategic program of work to help improve experience, outcomes and affordability for its members.

The purpose of this role is the management of end to end delivery of initiatives associated with this program of work. The role utilises an agile mindset to drive the evolution of initiatives from concept to reality ensuring the business objectives and key results are achieved.


How will you add value?

Working closely with business owners / product owners and supporting one or more cross functional delivery squads, the Delivery Manager is responsible for ensuring the work within the squad’s backlog has been prioritised, managed, groomed and delivered with the teams in accordance with their sprint and program increment goals.


Further requirements will include:

  • Ensure that delivery team purpose and objectives are clear and linked to the broader Group vision, strategy and customer roadmap.
  • Being a trusted adviser to the stakeholders by dealing with ambiguity and solving business challenges, including contributing to creative solution design and assisting with estimation and feasibility.
  • Coach and empower delivery teams to take accountability for delivery, risk and issue management and assisting by removing blockers.


What are we looking for?

We are looking for a strategic thinker with extensive experience in leading the delivery of business outcomes. In addition, you will possess the following:

  • Proven experience leading virtual project teams in an Initiative / SCRUM / Project Delivery role.
  • Advanced communication skills, including ability to structure a story and communicate with clarity to influence executive audiences.
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships, negotiate and influence including the ability to balance and manage diverse and conflicting stakeholder interests.
  • Ability to deal with complexity, including use of issue-based problem solving and other strategy frameworks to define and solve problems.
  • Experience within the healthcare sector or private health insurance is desirable but not essential.
