Data Delivery Lead

Job Requisition Number:  13033
Date:  14 Jul 2025
Location:

DOCKLANDS, VIC, AU, 3008

You’re only human.

It’s a strange thing to say, because us humans are capable of incredible things. And at Medibank, we know our greatest potential lies in the people who work with us.

We strive to make real, fundamental change, driven by a simple purpose: to create the best health and wellbeing for all of Australia.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a dynamic and driven Delivery Lead to head up our Data Squads supporting the Business Hubs. In this role, you’ll guide a talented team of Designers, Developers, and Testers to bring data projects to life, delivering smart, scalable solutions across tools, tech, and platforms.

You’ll be the go-to for keeping things running smoothly. Planning, problem-solving, and keeping stakeholders in the loop with clear updates and a strong focus on quality. Whether it’s introducing better tools, streamlining processes, or embedding new ways of working, you’ll help us keep improving how we do things.

You’ll work across a range of exciting initiatives (with budgets from $250K to $1.5M), flexing between Agile, Waterfall, or Continuous Integration, whatever gets the best outcome. You’ll also support and coach others across the broader delivery team, acting as a key right hand to the Program Delivery Manager.

If you’re a natural leader with a passion for delivering meaningful outcomes, enjoy solving complex problems, and thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative environment—this could be your perfect next move.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage high-performing delivery teams to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes that meet business value and expectations
  • Drive alignment between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring adherence to approved architecture, design standards, and Medibank strategy
  • Allocate delivery tasks effectively and manage workloads to meet delivery requirements
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolving issues proactively to maintain momentum across initiatives
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing thought leadership and staying across emerging technologies and data capabilities
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across business and technology, ensuring clear communication and managed expectations
  • Continuously seek and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and growth through coaching, mentoring, and leading by example

Must haves:

  • Proven experience leading teams, providing coaching, and supporting change within teams
  • Strong planning and delivery skills across data warehousing and technology development projects
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts and engage senior stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of Agile and Lean methodologies, with hands-on experience using Jira, Confluence, and other project tools
  • Confident working across multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision
  • Skilled in systems integration, architecture, and design in complex, multi-vendor environments
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional forums and workshops with developers, analysts, and business leaders
  • Tertiary qualification in IT or equivalent experience, underpinned by strong values, work ethic, and a collaborative mindset
