We’re looking for a Data & Technology Optimisation & Insights Lead to drive performance, productivity and financial discipline across our Data & Technology function. Working closely with finance business partners, you’ll collaborate to lead improvements in decision-making, reporting and cost management, turning data and operational insight into clear actions that improve outcomes and optimise value. 

 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain complex strategic financial models (analyses, scenario modelling and benefits mapping) in Excel with clean structure, documentation and version control. 

  • Contribute to strategy development and implementation by leading benchmarking projects: define KPIs, collect and validate external and internal data, perform peer/comparative analysis and produce performance attribution dashboards. 

  • Design and maintain benchmarking frameworks to assess technology governance, performance and investment maturity versus industry peers, present insights to leadership. 

  • Update stakeholders and internal teams on value realisation, performance, operating model optimisation and value creation opportunities. 

  • Prepare high-quality deliverables: slide decks, executive summaries and data visualisations for C-suite presentations. 

  • Develop and operate a benefits management framework to quantify, track and report technology investment outcomes. 

  • Ensure technical accuracy, reproducibility and auditability of models and analyses. 

 

Required experience & skills:

  • Consultancy background preferred; candidates with experience at a Big Four firm will be strongly favoured. 

  • Advanced Excel skills: complex formulas, pivot tables, Power Query/ and model structuring best practices. 

  • Proven experience in benchmarking projects: KPI design, peer set selection, data normalisation and interpretation. 

  • Strong commercial judgment and ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders. 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance. 

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering or related field; professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CFA) desirable.

  • Clear reporting and controls embedded across Technology Services, in line with Risk appetite and taxonomy 

  • Measurable uplift in governance maturity, benefit realisation and investment decision quality. 

  • Timely, trusted insights delivered to governance forums driving better prioritisation and outcomes. 

  • Strong stakeholder confidence in data integrity, financial governance and operational transparency.
