The Opportunity – Commercial Performance Analyst

 

We have an exciting opportunity within the Strategy & Analytics team at Medibank, reporting to the Senior Commercial Performance Manager. 

 

In this role, you will use your analytical rigour, structured thinking and commercial mindset to support performance across the Onboarding and Manage & Review squads in Medibank Hub. 

 

We are looking for a Commercial Performance Analyst who can deliver high-quality analysis, dashboards and recommendations that enable timely, informed decision-making and help enhance member and enterprise value. 

 

How you will create value 

 

In this broad and dynamic role, you will add value by:

 

  • Using analytics techniques, systems and software to resolve key business questions in a timely manner and develop fact-based recommendations 
  • Analysing initiative performance and outcomes against business case expectations, including KPIs that help the squads understand what is working and where to optimise 
  • Building high-quality dashboards, reports and analysis that make performance easier to understand and support better decisions across the business 
  • Considering business objectives, internal data and market trends when evaluating business problems or assessing the commercial viability of initiatives 
  • Presenting clear, logical insights and action-oriented recommendations to stakeholders to help achieve strategic objectives 
  • Enhancing data management processes, tools and capabilities by contributing to continuous improvement activities and sharing knowledge across the team 
  • Collaborating with team members, subject matter experts and business stakeholders to identify and translate requirements, evaluate data sources and deliver insights and recommendations 

 

About you

 

You are degree-qualified, with strong quantitative skills and structured thinking abilities. You bring a well thought-out, analytical approach to solving complex problems and can turn data into practical, commercially grounded recommendations. 

 

Presentation skills, with the ability to confidently structure and communicate complex information across the business, are essential for this role. You can translate analysis into clear insights, explain your methodology and assumptions, and influence business decisions through strong storytelling. 

 

You are likely known as a self-starter who takes ownership of your workload, manages competing priorities and proactively seeks guidance when needed. You are collaborative, flexible and team-oriented, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outputs to tight deadlines. 

 

Technical Skills 

 

The following technical skills are also required: 

 

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience analysing data from large and complex data warehouses using SQL, SAS and Excel
  • Ability to create high-quality dashboards, reporting and executive-ready analysis using tools such as Tableau and PowerPoint 
  • Strong attention to detail in documenting methodology, assumptions, issues and quality assurance checks 
  • Big-picture thinking, with the ability to consider business objectives, internal data and market trends when assessing performance and opportunities 
  • Experience in strategy, finance, customer analytics or commercial performance environments will be highly regarded
