The Opportunity


We are seeking a Clinical Lead to provide leadership, coaching and provide real time clinical support and assistance to the Mental Health team.


This will be a 1 year fixed-term contract position working primarily business hours Monday to Friday, however, we do offer some flexibility of hours.


Our Mental Health team provides clinical advice and support across a number of programs. The Clinical Leads work closely with the Clinical Manager, Program Specialists and Clinical Governance to ensure that rigorous clinical governance is observed in their team and that they have the operational efficiencies and clinical support needed to excel in overall service delivery.


The Clinical Lead is responsible for the team achieving the highest quality clinical outcomes and operational efficiencies by:

  • Providing real time clinical support and assistance to the Mental Health team
  • Coaching and supporting new staff successful transition into the Mental Health team
  • Engaging in regular performance coaching with team members to ensure a high standard of customer service
  • Conducting accurate, timely and appropriate call quality reviews for team members
  • Always operating in the clinical governance frameworks to ensure risk adverse quality of healthcare service
  • Leveraging reports and tools available to monitor and identify areas of improvement and development
  • Ensuring clear support networks are in place for direct reports during periods of planned absences


While the main focus of this role is clinical management and governance, Clinical Leads may be asked from time to time to work a shift taking program calls to maintain familiarity with the requirements and current issues of the role.


About You


To be successful in this role you will meet the following key requirements:

  • Qualified with a 3 Year Tertiary Degree in a relevant field & 2 years counselling experience. You will be a RN (MH Nurse) , Social Worker, Registered Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Counsellor and hold a current AHPRA registration or relevant AHP accreditation
  • You will have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in mental health and community services
  • Confidence in the ability to achieve a high standard of customer service in a call centre environment
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
  • Extensive clinical assessment skills
  • Strong IT skills with proven multi-tasking skills and a demonstrated ability to simultaneously navigate computer and phone systems whilst effectively communicating with callers and/or colleagues
  • Experience in leadership is desirable
