Clinical Advisor
DOCKLANDS, VIC, AU, 3008
You’re only human.
It’s a strange thing to say, because us humans are capable of incredible things. And at Medibank, we know our greatest potential lies in the people who work with us.
We strive to make real, fundamental change, driven by a simple purpose: to create the best health and wellbeing for all of Australia.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Adjudication Squad as a Clinical Adviser on a part-time basis (0.8 FTE), with flexible hybrid working across home and office.
In this role, you’ll draw on your clinical expertise to provide trusted advice across the business, supporting decision-making on complex clinical queries and cases that may require escalation to a medical practitioner.
As part of a collaborative team of Clinical Advisers, you’ll play a key role in:
- Assessing and determining Pre-Existing Conditions (PEC), Accidents and Clinical Ex-Gratia (CEG) cases
- Reviewing clinical content for publication to ensure accuracy and quality
- Providing guidance on a range of clinical queries from across the business
This is a great opportunity to apply your clinical background in a more advisory and analytical environment, while still making a meaningful impact on health outcomes.
About You
You’re an AHPRA-registered nurse with at least 5 years’ clinical experience, ideally gained in peri-operative services, emergency or oncology, and you’re looking to take the next step into a broader, business-facing role.
You will bring:
- Strong clinical judgement and the ability to interpret and apply clinical information
- Confidence engaging with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external
- The ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
- A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving
Experience or knowledge of the private health insurance industry and funding principles is desirable, but not essential.
