The Opportunity

Join Medibank as a CMDB Administrator and play a pivotal role in shaping the backbone of our IT operations.

You’ll be responsible for managing and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within our ServiceNow platform, ensuring data accuracy and reliability that drives smarter decisions across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CMDB Management & Maintenance: Administer and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring data integrity and performing regular audits.
  • Discovery & Integration: Configure ServiceNow Discovery and integrate CMDB with external systems to automate and enrich data.
  • Governance & Compliance: Develop and enforce CMDB policies, standards, and ensure alignment with ITIL best practices.
  • Collaboration & Support: Partner with ITSM process owners and ServiceNow teams to optimize CMDB usage and functionality.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Create dashboards, analyse trends, and provide insights to improve configuration management practices.

 

Must haves:

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is required
  • IT Operations Management (CIS-ITOM) certification is highly desirable
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, Service Mapping, and Discovery.
  • Strong knowledge of CI Class Hierarchy, Identification & Reconciliation Rules, and CMDB Health.
  • Expertise in CMDB concepts (CIs, relationships, classes, attributes) and ITIL Configuration Management processes.
  • Experience integrating CMDB with external tools (e.g., SCCM, AWS/Azure) via APIs/MID Server.
  • Skilled in debugging Discovery issues, log analysis, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
