The Opportunity

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for driving growth? Join our dynamic team as a Business Development Manager, where you'll lead the charge in expanding Medibank’s presence in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme and beyond.

A key strategic priority is to expand Medibank’s presence within the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme, with a focus on seasonal worker segments. The BDM will develop and execute a clear business development plan to support PALM-related growth, including regular travel to regional Queensland for stakeholder engagement and activation.

The role also includes managing a portfolio of migration agents, working collaboratively with other Business Development Managers to ensure consistent account performance and partner satisfaction. The BDM is responsible for driving joins from B2B partners and contributing to the overall growth of Medibank’s overseas insurance business.

Collaboration with the GEO Retail and Operations teams is essential to support and drive sales from B2B partners. Success will depend on a well-executed business development strategy, strong account management and sales capabilities, and a customer-focused approach to problem-solving. These efforts should deliver positive outcomes for the business, our partners, and the end consumer, while supporting Medibank’s objective of profitable growth.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven B2B sales and account management experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset
  • Knowledge of education and migration sectors a plus

It is important to note that there will be regular travel required for this role, mainly in regional and rural QLD. 

Help us grow Medibank’s overseas insurance business while making a real impact for workers, visitors, and our partners.

Now, who are you? 

First and foremost, you’ll need to be an experienced B2B professional, with a true passion for health and wellbeing. We would love you to have had experience working in a similar role in a large organisation, ideally gained within an insurance or similarly heavily regulated environment.

You’ll be a strong and engaging communicator who is able to confidently work with and influence a range of stakeholders. A real people person, you will have a knack for building effective, positive working relationships and contributing effectively to your team. In terms of technical skills, you will know your way around a computer be comfortable tracking and recording detail in Salesforce (or a  similar program).
