The Opportunity

We are on the hunt for a creative and passionate Brand Manager to join our team on a 13 month fixed term parental leave cover. This role sits within the Brand Experience & Creative team and works alongside the Brand Strategy Lead to deliver brand strategy thinking to improve brand health and ‘Medibank Live Better’ positioning.

 

As the Brand Manager you will deliver on key programs that drive the brand strategy and ensure that brand experiences are operationalized across the business.

 

You’ll be responsible for championing the Medibank Brand and influencing both internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate representation of the brand and delivery against key brand metrics.

 

Day to day, in this role you would:  

  • Decide if your day is best spent working from home or the office. We don’t have any mandated weekly office attendance here at Medibank, but will need you to attend team days and events when they’re on.
  • Deliver brand training and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead company wide major brand transition projects through cross functional teams.
  • Lead brand guideline and brand asset development and continuous improvement including leadership of the brand guidelines working group.
  • Develop and lead a clear brand governance program across internal stakeholders and key agency partners.
  • Complete brand approvals on communications received both internally and from external parties.
  • Provide brand consulting support and advice for key projects including campaigns, property branding and other business projects.
  • Provide brand licensing support.
  • Have responsibility for the budget management of the brand strategy budget.
  • Take some time to recharge your batteries and encouraging others to do the same – you might grab a takeaway coffee and head out for a walking one on one with a team member, get to the gym for a lunchtime class or block out calendar time to attend to your child’s school assembly.

 

You also might:

  • Develop brand strategic artefacts and assets to help shape the direction of Medibank.
  • Assist brand architecture development of the Medibank group of brands portfolio.
  • Proactively review brand metrics, to identify and drive opportunities that improve brand health and positioning, while minimising brand risks.
  • Closely and effectively manage relationships with multiple external and internal suppliers, such as agencies, and distribution channel suppliers to ensure best practice brand initiatives/campaigns are being produced.
  • Lead the trademark management process for Medibank working closely with legal.
  • Brief and liaise with our customer insights team and external research partners.

This role would be a perfect match for a highly organised, creative, results driven marketer who is obsessive about customer and brand. Significant experience in a senior brand role is key, ideally built in a customer focussed, services environment. You’ll enjoy solving brand and creative problems and have a good handle on the campaign and creative development process. Your superpowers are project and brand management, strategic thinking, strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing.
