The Calvary Amplar Health Joint Venture (CAHJV) has become one of the first standalone virtual hospitals delivering acute care to be nationally accredited to the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
CAHJV has successfully delivered care to over 210,000 patients nationally, including greater than 14,000 acute patients within My Home Hospital in SA. Through this achievement, we have showcased remarkable levels of patient experience, notable decreases in emergency department visits & significant cost savings for funders.
Our joint venture specialises in delivering acute hospital-level services to patients in their homes. In collaboration with funders, we develop cutting-edge programs powered by clinical expertise and technology, all designed to relieve health system pressures and enable greater access to healthcare.
About this opportunity
We are expanding our team of consultant physicians with FRACP or emergency physicians with FACEM fellowships. Sub-specialty consultants encouraged to apply. The Consultant position oversees and provides patient care and applies medical knowledge and experience in the clinical diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and ongoing management of patients admitted to our virtual hospital.
Make your mark in the burgeoning field of virtual health as a Specialist Consultant, helping to growth the innovative and exciting virtual hospital model of care. The CAHJV is looking to employ doctors on a fixed term contract basis with superannuation and leave entitlements. The organisation does not utilise Medicare and you will work in a team of dedicated doctors, nurses, paramedics, and administrative staff to deliver exceptional care.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, our consultants work 8 hour shifts across a 7-day roster, with flexibility based on other work commitments in the public or private sector. Consultants are also expected to participate on an on-call 7-day roster, dependent on FTE equivalent. We are currently offering part time & full time positions on a fixed-term basis with possibility of extension.
This is a busy role and will suit someone with hospital based experience in acute general medicine. A high degree of clinical acumen is required for this role.
About You
Fully registered as a Specialist with AHPRA. We are looking to employ Senior Specialist Consultants with an interest in new and innovative healthcare technology. We deem Senior Specialist Consultants to be all medical practitioners with at least 5 years’ worth of experience post fellowship in the field of specialty that they work. Specialist consultants with FACEM or FRACP are encouraged to apply. Consultants with experience in geriatric medicine, haematology and general medicine, with a high proficiency when using technology and telemedicine services will be prioritised.
You must have the ability to apply theoretical knowledge and experience in determining the appropriate clinical diagnosis, investigations, and treatment of patients in line with clinical risk and compliance frameworks.
You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a high level of professionalism, ability to relate well with people of all interests, background and abilities and show a commitment to delivering exemplary care to our patients.
