GP/Medical Officer
The GP/Medical Officer position provides patient care and applies medical knowledge and experience in the clinical diagnosis, investigation, treatment and ongoing management of patients in the MHH.


Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the GP/Medical Officer will apply medical knowledge and experience in the diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients and maintain effective communication with patients and their carers/family, MHH staff, medical colleagues including General Practitioners.
Maintaining medical records in accordance with MHH policy and procedures, including the accurate and timely production of discharge summaries, the appointee will participate in after-hours roster as required and support the supervision of registrars and medical students.
About You
Fully registered as a medical practitioner with AHPRA you have experience as medical registrar, General Practitioner and/or with specialty interest.
With demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team you assist interns and residents to grow and develop their clinical skills and knowledge. You must have the ability to apply theoretical knowledge and experience in determining the appropriate clinical diagnosis, investigations and treatment of patients in line with clinical risk and compliance frameworks.

This role does require to you demonstrate a minimum 5 years’ experience as a qualified Medical Officer including APHRA registration. Throughout the process you will be asked to complete a National Police check and Working with Children Check. This position also requires for you to have a current driver’s license along with vehicle, registration, and car insurance.

Please note applicants will be required to work 12 hour shifts across a 7 day roster. This role can be offered as either part time or full time on a 3 year fixed term contract.
